Time: 8 AM – 1 PM

Location: Discovery Meadow near the San Jose AIDS Memorial Grove
W San Carlos St & Woz Way
San Jose, CA 95110, US

Description:

The Walk for AIDS Silicon Valley is a 10 kilometer walk that raises money for HIV/AIDS service and prevention programs in our area. The Walk is the largest AIDS event in Santa Clara County with thousands of participants in recent years.
Walk begins and ends at Discovery Meadow near the AIDS Memorial Grove located in downtown San Jose at the corner of Woz Way and San Carlos. The Walk is 6.2 miles of mostly flat sidewalks through the Rose Garden and along the Guadalupe River.
Fundraising: While there is no mandatory minimum, when you raise a minimum of $20, you will gain access to the exclusive WFA food & beverage tent before and after the Walk! The average walker in 2006 collected over $120!
The Walk will be fun. There will music, entertainment, speakers, snacks and recognition for champion walkers including prizes from our in-kind donors. However many Walkers find that it is even more fun to be part of team made up of their co-workers and friends. We encourage you to create your own team. Have team theme, wear a costume...Have fun. You are joining thousands of your neighbors in doing a good thing.

YES, you must register on their website. If you don't register, you can't go. The only reason we need you to sign up with key club is so we can figure out how many rides we'll need. To register, go here http://acsv.kintera.org/faf/home/default.asp?ievent=230165 and click on Volunteer Registration.

i know some people that want to participate in the aids walk but didnt know about the registration online. since volunteer registration is closed already on the website could people still go to volunteer at the event?

sorry, they can't. i don't know how they check whether you registered or not, but we don't wanna take the risk of having to drive people back in the case that they aren't allowed to volunteer. tell them to check our website more often for info on the events so that this won't happen in the future
